Just 2 little words can make a massive difference to someones life.
Some thank you’s are small – shop keeper hands you change and you say thanks. The bus driver let’s you out of the front door in traffic, you say thanks. Someone hands you a drink, you say thanks. These may be automatic to some but many forget….
Then there’s the bigger thank you’s. The one’s where you pick up the phone because you made a conscious effort to let someone know how much appreciate their work, something they have done but didn’t have to do, something that may be their job to do, but it helps you all that same. It can be the thing that turns their day around, a day filled with moans and groans can melt away by the small acknowledgement that someone out there appreciates all their hard work and cares enough to make a conscious decision to let it be known.

To celebrate my birthday Sept 6th, I wanted to take a trip down memory lane. Below are the values I developed for my youth empowerment business CAM London ( Formerly Scarlet Workshops), I wrote this 7 years ago in 2014 and to be honest, nothing has changed. Other than a few specifics, these values are literally who I am, what I believe, what I want for the world and the future. When you truly operate from passion, nothing really changes 🙂
OUR VALUES to act with honesty and integrity to maintain a positive and encouraging outlook to ensure client experience is always considered to place “quality over quantity” to maintain a close-nit feel for care and support to maintain a great reputation in our ability to deliver to understand what people ‘need’ as well as what they ‘want’
OUR OBJECTIVES to make professional artistic services more accessible in disadvantaged communities to provide professional training in the arts and access to working in the creative industries. to promote the arts as a leader for transferable skills to promote healthy relationships and communication at all levels to empower young people to take a lead in decisions that affect their lives to provide education and training to encourage peer-leaders, mentors and role models. to provide thought provoking content and sessions with regards to being creators of our own reality
OUR WIDER AIMS to fill gaps in current education or youth work practices to give young people the opportunity to develop new skills and forge new life experiences to extend our service to encompass the whole family to aid communication and healing through creative expression to explore the awareness and understanding of the issues facing young people to provide safe, supportive environments for young people to express themselves and seek guidance to elicit the idea that we are architects of our own world We service schools, PRU’s, community groups, self referrals, local authorities, charitable/social businesses
Scarlet Gabriel is a UK singer and actress, a star of the stage and screen.
Currently (pre-lockdown) Scarlet has been starring as Queen Anna of Cleves in the multi-award winning West End/Broadway musical, SIX.
Scarlet has also performed on all major UK TV channels and for some of the largest corporations and with/for some of the most wonderful celebrities in luxurious venues around the world.
Scarlet before Stardom
Despite the glitz and the glam, Scarlet’s life hasn’t always been so ‘starry.’
Scarlet Gabriel was raised in a poor, single parent household, whilst being exposed to bullying and domestic violence, suicidal thoughts and depression, teenage pregnancy, racism and a boyfriend in prison.
Despite this less than starry upbringing, Scarlet changed her life around and, like a phoenix rising from the ashes of poverty and abuse, Scarlet turned her life around into what it is today. Showing to all and, most importantly to herself, that although there is despair, there is also hope.
‘If your world is a stage, live your best show.’
Sharing the Starlight
Shine your light onto others.
Although Scarlet managed to turn her life around, she did not leave her past behind and pretend that it didn’t happen.
Instead, Scarlet did the opposite. Scarlet now shines a light on her past, in order to show others in similar circumstances that all is not lossed and that they can turn their lives around too.
In 2014 Scarlet launched CAM London, an organisation that helps people from disadvantaged communities turn their lives around, by utilising the performing arts for it’s self-expression and therapeutic benefits.
Scarlet Gabriel is now also a highly qualified life coach, helping both performers and non-performers on a daily basis through her various programmes that are designed and tailored to the specific needs of her clients.
To date, Scarlet Gabriel has helped many people from various backgrounds and industries, turn their lives around for the better.
Believe it or not, although Scarlet is a performer, she is an introvert. An introvert in an extrovert world. Thereby, regardless of whether you are an extrovert or an introvert or from a disadvantaged or advantaged background, Scarlet is a highly qualified and experienced coach that can assist you in living your best life.
So my birthday is coming up September 6th, all presents welcome ;P and if you know anything about me, you know I get into full reflection mode, so I was looking at some old blog/diary entries and saw this one and was like “yeah baby” so I want to share it with you, may it bring you inspiration! xx
“I’m sure we all know the saying “you can’t have your cake and eat it” however I disagree.
If I’ve worked hard to earn my money Take that money to the shop Buy a cake with that hard earned money Then why the hell can’t I eat the cake?! #JustSaying
